Dear Fred,
Dear colleagues,
I am writing you on behalf of both chairmen of FSASH and SPASH, regarding a very difficult situation we are facing since yesterday, when both KSSH and BSPSH Albanian confederations and their affiliates, FSASH/SPASH including, were expelled from their offices in Tirana.
It was 10.15 when the representatives of the Court Decisions Executing Office come to the building accompanied by a great number of police forces, the pretenders for the owners of the building and the representatives of UFO private university, hiring the building, came and asked to leave the offices.  After some discussions with the chairman
of the KSSH and some other representatives of their affiliates, they started to destroy the doors and to evacuate everything from the offices.
What happened yesterday in the building of both confederations was a real nightmare, which can not be explained by writing and by telling. It was a real "battle" destroying everything, doors, tables, desks, computers, all the documents, moving them from the offices to a store where we can not find anything anymore.
May be you know, this is a long history, which reflects openly the corruption, but nobody from the government reacted against this decision and against this terrible action against trade unions in Albania. Of course this is an action ordered by the government addressed against the trade unions, and we are actually without any possibility to  find any other place for our offices.
We are trying to contact the government representatives asking for any solution from them, but for the moment nobody is engaged to dosomething.
It is also informed the ITUC about the situation and we expect a strong reaction from them to the Albanian Government, but at the same time we consider an obligation to inform you as well.
Of course we will keep you informed about the new developments.
Begging your pardon for this very bad information during these summer
days, when maybe you are not in the offices,
Kindest regards,
Stavri Liko

Thanks Stavri,
I have written the letters to PM and President and now  I
am doing one for comissioner Olli Rehn.
The first may be sent already or will be sent tomorrow morning.
We keep in touch anyway.

Dear Fred,
Dear Jefferson,
Thank you very much for your support and solidarity.
Thank you very much for that constructive letter sent to our Prime Minister
and other authorities in Brussels.
We appreciate very much what you are doing to assist our trade unions in
this very difficult situation and we are of the opinion that we will result
stronger after this attempt of at least some segments of the Government to
destroy the trade unions in Albania.
Many thanks again and best regards also on behalf of both chairmen,

Dear Jan,
Dear colleagues,
Thank you very much for your solidarity and support.
We, (all the affiliates of both confederations), continue to be without a place (an office), trying to negotiate with the Government and Ministry of Labour for any other possibility.
Just today we had a meeting of the National Council of the KSSH, with a wide participation of our activists from Tirana and districts and media presence, where was decided to continue negotiations till the beginning of the next week.
If no solution from the Government, then we will see the possibility of other ways of reaction.
Of course, I will keep you informed about the new developments.
Many thanks again and best regards,
Stavri

Dear Stavri,
Thanks very much - we are very glad to receive your response. Please do
keep us informed and if you have other suggestions for how EI may
support you please let us know.
All best wishes in your negotiations with government and in
solidarity,
Best regards,
Jan

Hello Stavri,
This is very bad news indeed and I did not expect a thing like this to
happen in Albania. We are on holiday now but if necessary you can reach
me by email, (I can always read it). For the moment I wish you all a lot
of courage and we will of course find ways to help you build up your
offices again once you find a place. Let us know how things go,

Best wishes,
